A Journey Through History, Tradition & Celebration

Immerse yourself in the soul of Ghana—its vibrant cities, rich traditions, and powerful history. This 10-day journey takes you from the bustling streets of Accra to the royal heart of the Ashanti Kingdom and the historic shores of Cape Coast and Elmina. Each day brings meaningful cultural encounters, unforgettable sights, and deep connections to the people and heritage of this remarkable nation.

Day 1 | Arrival in Accra

Welcome to Ghana! Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Accra. Take the evening to relax and prepare for the cultural adventure ahead.

Day 2 | Accra City Tour – The Heart of the Capital

Your first full day begins with a guided exploration of Accra’s historical and cultural landmarks:

  • James Town – A walk through one of Accra’s oldest districts, full of colonial architecture and local life.

  • Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park – Honoring Ghana’s first president and independence leader.

  • Cultural Centre – Shop for unique crafts and souvenirs.

  • Black Star Square & Independence Gate – Symbols of Ghana’s freedom.

  • National Museum – A journey through Ghana’s art, history, and anthropology.

Day 3 | Krobo Land, Aburi Gardens & River Cruise

Venture into Krobo Land to discover the traditional art of bead-making. Continue to the lush Aburi Botanical Gardens for a peaceful stroll, and end the day with a scenic boat cruise on the Volta River at Akosombo.

Day 4 | W.E.B. Du Bois & Journey to Kumasi

Visit the W.E.B. Du Bois Museum, celebrating the life of the Pan-African scholar and activist. Then travel to Kumasi, the cultural capital of the Ashanti Kingdom.

Day 5 | Ashanti Craft Villages

Spend the day exploring Kumasi’s artisan communities:

  • Asante Traditional Building – UNESCO World Heritage site showcasing Ashanti architecture.

  • Adanwomase Kente Village – Learn the weaving of Ghana’s iconic cloth.

  • Ntonso Adinkra Village – Experience symbolic cloth stamping.

  • Cultural Centre – Traditional arts and crafts from the Ashanti region.

Day 6 | Ashanti Royalty & Market Life

Discover the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site, steeped in Ashanti legend. Visit the Manhyia Palace Museum, once the seat of Ashanti kings. End the day at Kejetia Market, one of West Africa’s largest, for vibrant shopping.

Day 7 | Cape Coast & Elmina

Travel towards the coast with a moving stop at the Assin Manso Ancestral Enslaved River, a memorial to enslaved Africans. Continue to the Cape Coast Castle/Dungeon for a guided tour of this historic UNESCO site.

Day 8 | Nature, Craft & Community

Walk the canopy walkway at Kakum National Park, surrounded by lush rainforest. Learn batik and tie-dye fabric-making, then visit Iture Sankofa Village to explore traditional gari processing in a local community.

Day 9 | Remembrance & Reflection

Begin with a tour of the Elmina Slave Dungeon, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony honoring ancestors. Take part in a traditional naming ceremony at Iture Sankofa Village. The day closes with an evening bonfire gathering—a time for reflection and storytelling.

Day 10 | Farewell to Ghana

Return to Accra, stopping for last-minute shopping along the way. Transfer to the airport for your departure, taking with you lasting memories of Ghana’s heritage and hospitality
